What Types of Loft insulation Are There?
Although not an exhaustive list, some of the common types of insulation you can get for insulating loft spaces are glass mineral fibre, rock mineral fibre, encapsulated mineral fibre (much like the first two but kept in a polythene sleeve to keep the fibres from migrating as easily), multi foil insulations and rigid foam boards.
Glass Fibre Rolls
Certainly the most well known loft insulation is the glass fibre kind which is sold in rolls. This is cheap relative to any other kind of insulation and it is generally the starting point for anyone considering insulating their loft. You would typically look to have 270mm to 300mm (10" to 12" in old money) in a modern home.
